Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital was officially opened in August 2000. It is in the center of Yunlin-Chiayi area. Yunlin-Chiayi area is an aging society with low household income and high percentage of disabled people. Cancer, chronic diseases, and rheumatic and immune diseases are prevalent in this area. Although Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital is located in the countryside, all colleagues in the hospital have always been dedicated to providing high-tech, high-quality, and highly humanistic medical care. Complex and innovative treatments for severe autoimmune diseases, arthroscopic cartilage regeneration facilitating procedure, transcatheter minimally invasive aortic valve replacement surgery, ankylosing spondylitis corrective surgery, cutting-edge radiotherapy integrated care model, water exchange colonoscopy technology, and healthy vegetarian culture is the strength of Dalin Tzu Chi Hospital. Soon, we will have blood samples collected from patients with chronic renal disease and vitiligo. We are actively enrolling more cases and included more types of diseases. Joining the National BioBank Consortium of Taiwan database integration platform can expand samples exchanges with other hospitals and contribute to biomedical research.
Our biobank is scheduled to collect 23 types of samples including healthy people, those with cardiovascular diseases, various cancers, immune-related diseases, chronic diseases such as diabetes, and vegetarians. In addition to directly applying for specimens from this biobank, users can also apply for specimens through the National BioBank Consortium of Taiwan database integration platform. The charging standards are the same to the National BioBank Consortium of Taiwan.
