Value
Although Taiwan is a small island, its population may be viewed as a representative of the Chinese ethnic group due to its ethnic variety. In other words, ethnic groups in the Taiwan Biobank collection covers 22% of the world's population, making it one of the most valuable databases in the world.
The Taiwan Biobank has more than 30 regional recruitment stations across several locations in Taiwan to promote participation and collect biological samples and its associated information. These stations not only provide local services but also help maintain regional balance in terms of sampling.
Our complete facilities for data storage, specimen preservation and personal information protection form the cornerstones of our sustainable operation.
The Taiwan Biobank is committed to the establishment of a highly diverse health database. We employ a long-term follow-up tracking system to collect data at multiple time points from each participant, thus strengthening the temporal information content which helps to understand the causal relationship of healthy and disease conditions.
