To facilitate biomedical researches, MacKay Memorial Hospital has set up a biobank according to the related regulation. We have established routine procedures for sample collection and sample storage. Tumor tissues have been the major samples we collect. Among those samples, breast cancer and gynecologic cancer are the majority, consist of 39.8% and 23.1%, respectively. However, increasing cases of lung cancer and colorectal cancer are also notable, with an estimated rate of 30% and 10% each year, respectively. Our sample collection of breast cancer is the most comprehensive, including paired tissues of tumor, interface and non-tumor as well as paired blood of the same individual. For lung and colorectal cancer, we provide samples of paired tumor and non-tumor tissues. Currently, we are aiming to expand the varieties of specimens and different categories of sources.
