NTU Hsin-Chu Hospital Biobank was established in September,2023 according to “Human Biobank Management Acts”. Our goal is to collect human biological specimens and biological data under the conditions of protecting the privacy and rights of participants, to provide researchers a legal way to apply for the use of human biological specimens and biological data, and to promote the development of biomedical research in our institute.
We aim to collect paired cancerous and normal formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues. We also collect fresh frozen tissue, serum, plasma, buffy coat and urine samples. To ensure the quality of samples, we have established standard operating procedures for sample collection, storage and use of biological specimens. Our Ethical Governing Committee was established in May,2022, the mandate of the Committee is to supervise the management and the application of human biological specimens and biological data, and to supervise participant privacy protection policy of the biobank.
