Changhua Christian Hospital, the legal person of the Changhua Christian Medical Foundation, has established "Changhua Christian Hospital Biobank" under the regulations of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's " Biobank Management Regulations". When the patients come to Changhua Christian Hospital for medical attention, their physicians of this hospital will explain the detail of the study plan and ask the patients if they are willing to keep the blood sample at the same time (this blood sample is taken together with the participant in the routine examination, and shall not be taken separately). If Individuals agree to participate in the program and sign the consent form ("Changhua Christian Medical Foundation, Changhua Christian Hospital Biobank Participant Consent") before undergoing treatment or examination (hereinafter referred to as participants), their remaining specimens or body fluid cellular samples after testing will then be safely stored in the biobank.
When the specimens of all participants are stored in the biobank, their relevant personal data, including pathology number, medical record number, name, gender, specimen location, and diagnosis, will be filed and managed by the biobank information processing staff on a dedicated computer. All incoming samples will be coded with numbers or English letters. The sample processing personnel of the biobank cannot identify the sample provider, and all relevant personnel will sign a confidentiality agreement to maintain the privacy of the participants. The coded link data will be recorded separately by the information processing staff.
When there is a research need in the future, it must be reviewed by the "Biobank Review Board" of this hospital, and some data must be linked under the supervision, and the data will still be transmitted in a form that cannot identify the identity of the participant.
